Artist Biography
Angry Dan is a local poet and painter. He writes limericks about so many things, everyday life, science, historical figures, philosophy, and anything else that he comes across. He mostly uses a combination of spray paint and acrylics. He has 7 limericks dotted around the street of Walthamstow. He has painted all over the UK and overseas. He regularly conducts limerick writing workshops with local primary schools in the area.
Apple
The apple is an example of Dan's later, more educational work. It's about Isaac Newton's third law of thermodynamics, and the often repeated tale about Newton's eureka moment about gravity, when supposedly an apple fell on his head. It was commissioned by St James Street Big Local. If you keep an eye out in the local area, you might see some of his "Angry Dan Says Brush Your Teeth" stickers, which are in the style of the old dentist's stickers from the 90's. Dan didn't know it was going to be a sweet shop when he painted it, and he would like you to know that he doesn't like sweets.
