Neighbourhood Greening Launched! Monday 29/03/21

Hello there!

At St James Street Big Local, we’ve been busy over the past year or so working with local residents and partners to develop the first phase of our greening projects to help people green their local streets, front gardens and street facing balconies.

And now spring is in the air, the first phase has been launched!

The first phase focuses on 5 ‘seedling streets’ to help kick start future projects across the St James Street area. These streets are:

  • Brunner Road
  • Buxton Road
  • Hazelwood Road
  • Morland Road
  • Station Road

These streets have been selected based on existing street greening (or lack of!), location of civic facilities, use of streets for walking and cycling and community interest.

We’ve been very fortunate to be supported by the Mayor of London’s Greener City Fund, working with ‘what if: projects Ltd’ in developing ideas and partnering up with Lancaster’s local garden centre to provide the greening.

To find out more, get involved and apply for some plants by 30 April 2021 please take a look at the Menu and Planting Information documents below.

You can make your menu selections using either the Word and PDF forms. If you have trouble using these please email us and we’ll arrange another option!

Please note that orders from the Menu will be confirmed having consideration to when they were placed and ensuring a geographic spread.
